صعد النبي ﷺ مع جبريل عليه السلام إلى السماء الأولى. فاستأذن جبريل، فقيل: من؟ قال: جبريل. قيل: ومن معك؟ قال: محمد. ففُتح لهما، فإذا آدم عليه السلام أبو البشر، فرحّب به وقال: مرحباً بالابن الصالح والنبي الصالح.
نستأذن قبل أن ندخل، حتى في السماء.
صعد النبي ﷺ مع جبريل عليه السلام في المعراج حتى بلغا باب السماء الأولى. فاستفتح جبريل، فقيل: من هذا؟ قال: جبريل. قيل: ومن معك؟ قال: محمد. قيل: وقد أُرسل إليه؟ قال: نعم. ففُتح لهما، فإذا هو بآدم عليه السلام أبي البشر، فرحّب به وقال: «مرحباً بالابن الصالح والنبي الصالح». وكان آدم عليه السلام ينظر عن يمينه فيضحك، وينظر عن شماله فيبكي، لأن عن يمينه أرواح أهل السعادة من ذريّته، وعن شماله أرواح أهل الشقاء.
قال تعالى في عظمة خلق السماوات: ﴿الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا ۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ مِن تَفَاوُتٍ﴾.
عملك الصالح يُفرح آدم عليه السلام — فما العمل الذي تحب أن يراه منك اليوم؟

The Prophet (pbuh) ascended with Jibril to the first heaven. Jibril asked to be let in. “Who is it?” “Jibril.” “And who is with you?” “Muhammad.” The gate opened, and there was Adam, the father of humanity, who welcomed him: “Welcome, righteous son and righteous prophet.”
We ask permission before entering — even at the gates of heaven.
The Prophet (pbuh) ascended with Jibril in the Mi'raj until they reached the gate of the first heaven. Jibril asked for it to be opened. “Who is this?” “Jibril.” “And who is with you?” “Muhammad.” “Has he been sent for?” “Yes.” The gate opened, and there was Adam, the father of humanity, who welcomed him and said: “Welcome, righteous son and righteous prophet.” Adam would look to his right and laugh, and to his left and weep — for on his right were the souls of the happy among his children, and on his left the souls of the wretched.
Allah says of the heavens: ﴿الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا﴾ — “who created seven heavens in layers.”
