أحضر جبريل عليه السلام دابّة بيضاء من الجنة تُسمّى البُراق، أكبر من الحمار وأصغر من البغل، تضع حافرها عند آخر ما يبلغه بصرها. ولما اقترب النبي ﷺ ليركبها تحرّكت، فقال لها جبريل: أبمحمد تفعلين هذا؟ فما ركبك أحد أكرم على الله منه. فسكنت ووقفت له، وانطلقا في سماء الليل.
قدرة الله أوسع من كل ما نتخيّل.
أحضر جبريل عليه السلام دابّة من الجنة تُسمّى البُراق، بيضاء ناصعة، أكبر من الحمار وأصغر من البغل. والعجيب في البُراق سرعته: يضع حافره عند أبعد نقطة يبلغها بصره. فلما دنا النبي ﷺ ليركبه شمس البُراق وتحرّك، فقال له جبريل عليه السلام: «أبمحمد تفعل هذا؟ فوالله ما ركبك أحد قط أكرم على الله منه». فاستحى البُراق وتصبّب عرقاً، ثم سكن ووقف حتى ركبه رسول الله ﷺ، فانطلقا في سماء الليل.
قال تعالى بعد أن ذكر ما نعرفه من الدوابّ: ﴿وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴾.
ما أسرع شيء تعرفه؟ وكيف تتخيّل شيئاً أسرع من البصر نفسه؟

Jibril brought a white creature from Paradise called al-Buraq, larger than a donkey and smaller than a mule, which placed its hoof as far as its sight could reach. When the Prophet (pbuh) came to ride it, it stirred, and Jibril said: is it Muhammad you do this to? No one more honoured before Allah has ever ridden you. So it settled and stood still, and they set off into the night sky.
Allah's power is wider than anything we can picture.
Jibril brought a creature from Paradise called al-Buraq, brilliant white, larger than a donkey and smaller than a mule. The wonder of al-Buraq was its speed: it would place its hoof at the farthest point its sight could reach. When the Prophet (pbuh) drew near to ride, al-Buraq shied and stirred, and Jibril said to it: “Is it Muhammad you do this to? By Allah, no one has ever ridden you who is more honoured before Allah than he is.” Al-Buraq grew shy and broke into a sweat, then settled and stood still until the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) mounted, and away they went into the night sky.
After naming the animals we know, Allah says: ﴿وَيَخْلُقُ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ﴾ — “And He creates what you do not know.”
