جعلت قريش مئة ناقة لمن يردّ النبي ﷺ. فطمع سُراقة بن مالك فتبعه على فرسه، فلما قرب ساخت قوائم فرسه في الأرض فسقط، فعاد وحاول فسقط ثانية. فأيقن أن أمر النبي ﷺ محفوظ، فطلب الأمان، وعاد يصرف الناس عن الطريق.
الطمع يورث الخسارة، وحفظ الله لا يُغلَب.
جعلت قريش لمن يردّ النبي ﷺ أو أبا بكر مئة ناقة، فطمع فيها سُراقة بن مالك — وكان فارساً ماهراً — فلبس سلاحه وأخذ فرسه ولحق بهما. وكان أبو بكر يلتفت خائفاً، والنبي ﷺ يقرأ لا يلتفت. فلما دنا منهم ساخت قوائم فرسه في الأرض حتى بلغت الرُكب، فوقع عنه. فقام وردّها، فلما استوى عليها ساخت مرة أخرى. فعلم سُراقة أن هذا الأمر محفوظ لا يُنال، فنادى القوم يطلب الأمان، فأمّنوه. وسأل النبي ﷺ أن يكتب له كتاب أمن فكتب له. فرجع سُراقة يصرف الناس عن الطريق ويقول: قد كُفيتم هذه الناحية. وأسلم بعد ذلك.
قال تعالى: ﴿وَيَمْكُرُونَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ﴾.
هل ترك أحدٌ يوماً شيئاً يشتهيه لأنه أدرك أنه على خطأ؟ كيف تفعل ذلك أنت؟

Quraysh promised a hundred camels to whoever brought the Prophet ﷺ back. Suraqah ibn Malik wanted them and rode after him — and when he drew near, his horse's legs sank into the ground and threw him. He mounted again, and again it sank. He knew then that this affair was under protection, asked for safety, and went back turning people away from the road.
Greed brings loss, and what Allah protects cannot be overcome.
Quraysh promised a hundred camels to whoever brought back the Prophet ﷺ or Abu Bakr, and Suraqah ibn Malik — a skilled horseman — wanted them. He took his weapons and his horse and rode after them. Abu Bakr kept looking back in fear while the Prophet ﷺ recited and did not turn round. When Suraqah came close, his horse's legs sank into the ground up to the knees and threw him off. He got up and mounted again, and as soon as he was settled it sank again. Then Suraqah knew that this affair was under a protection he could not reach, so he called out asking for safety, and they granted it. He asked the Prophet ﷺ for a written guarantee, and it was written for him. Suraqah went back turning people away from that road, saying: this side has been searched. And later he became a Muslim.
Allah says: ﴿وَيَمْكُرُونَ وَيَمْكُرُ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ﴾ — “they plan, and Allah plans; and Allah is the best of planners.”
