أرسلت قريش زعماءها إلى النبي ﷺ يعرضون عليه المال والملك بشرط أن يترك دينه. فردّ عليهم ردّه المشهور: والله لو وضعوا الشمس في يميني والقمر في يساري على أن أترك هذا الأمر ما تركته.
الحق أغلى من كل ما يُشترى.
أرسلت قريش زعماءها إلى النبي ﷺ فقالوا له: «إن كنت تريد مالاً جمعنا لك حتى تكون أغنانا، وإن كنت تريد ملكاً ملّكناك علينا، بشرط واحد: أن تترك هذا الدين». كان العرض مغرياً لأي إنسان، لكن النبي ﷺ لم يكن يطلب مالاً ولا سلطاناً، فردّ ردّه الحاسم الذي نذكره إلى اليوم: «والله لو وضعوا الشمس في يميني والقمر في يساري على أن أترك هذا الأمر حتى يظهره الله أو أهلك فيه، ما تركته».
قال تعالى: ﴿قُلْ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ ۚ قُل لَّا أَتَّبِعُ أَهْوَاءَكُمْ﴾.

Quraysh sent their leaders to the Prophet (pbuh) offering him wealth and kingship on one condition: that he leave his religion. He gave the answer we still remember: by Allah, if they put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left so that I would leave this, I would not leave it.
Truth is worth more than anything that can be bought.
Quraysh sent their leaders to the Prophet (pbuh), saying: “If you want wealth, we will gather it for you until you are the richest of us; if you want kingship, we will make you our king — on one condition: that you leave this religion.” The offer would have tempted anyone, but the Prophet (pbuh) was not seeking money or power. He gave the decisive answer we still remember: “By Allah, if they put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left so that I would abandon this matter until Allah makes it prevail, or I perish in it, I would not abandon it.”
Allah says: ﴿قُل لَّا أَتَّبِعُ أَهْوَاءَكُمْ﴾ — “Say: I do not follow your desires.”
