نزل النبي ﷺ في قُباء على مشارف المدينة، وأقام فيها أياماً. وأول ما عمل أن بنى مسجداً، فكان يحمل الحجارة مع أصحابه بنفسه، فهو أول مسجد بُني في الإسلام. وذكره الله في القرآن بأنه مسجد أُسّس على التقوى من أول يوم.
أول ما يُبنى في مجتمع صالح بيتٌ يجمع الناس على الخير.
بعد أيام من السفر والتعب والمطاردة، نزل النبي ﷺ في قُباء على مشارف المدينة، وأقام فيها بضعة أيام قبل أن يدخلها. ولم يكن أول عمله أن يبني بيتاً لنفسه أو سوقاً، بل مسجداً يجتمع فيه الناس. وكان ﷺ ينقل الحجارة مع أصحابه بيديه ويعمل معهم، لا يقف يأمر فقط، فنشط القوم للعمل. فكان مسجد قُباء أول مسجد بُني في الإسلام. وذكر الله هذا المسجد في كتابه ووصفه بأنه أُسّس على التقوى من أول يوم. وكان النبي ﷺ بعد ذلك يزوره كل سبت راكباً وماشياً.
قال تعالى: ﴿لَمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَىٰ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَن تَقُومَ فِيهِ﴾.

The Prophet ﷺ stopped at Quba on the edge of Madinah and stayed some days. The first thing he did was build a mosque, carrying the stones with his companions himself — the first mosque built in Islam. Allah mentions it in the Quran as a mosque founded on piety from the very first day.
The first thing a good community builds is a place that gathers people for good.
After days of travel, exhaustion and pursuit, the Prophet ﷺ stopped at Quba on the edge of Madinah and stayed a few days before entering the city. The first thing he did was not to build a house for himself or a market, but a mosque where people could gather. He carried the stones with his own hands and worked alongside his companions rather than standing and giving orders, and the people worked eagerly with him. So the mosque of Quba became the first mosque built in Islam. Allah mentioned this mosque in His Book and described it as founded on piety from the very first day. Afterwards the Prophet ﷺ used to visit it every Saturday, riding and walking.
Allah says: ﴿لَمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَىٰ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَن تَقُومَ فِيهِ﴾ — “a mosque founded on piety from the first day is worthier for you to stand in.”
