في الصباح أخبر النبي ﷺ قريشاً برحلته، فسخروا وقالوا: نسير إلى بيت المقدس شهراً وتذهب وترجع في ليلة؟ فسألوه أن يصف لهم المسجد، فجلّاه الله له فوصفه لهم وصفاً دقيقاً. وذهبوا إلى أبي بكر يشكّكونه، فقال: إن كان قال ذلك فقد صدق. فسُمّي الصدّيق.
الصديق الحق يقف معك حين يشكّ الناس.
لما أصبح الصباح جلس النبي ﷺ يخبر قريشاً بما كان في ليلته، فسخر منه المشركون وقالوا: «نحن نضرب إلى بيت المقدس شهراً، وأنت تذهب وترجع في ليلة؟». وأرادوا أن يمتحنوه فسألوه أن يصف لهم المسجد الأقصى، فجلّاه الله لبصره فجعل يصفه لهم باباً باباً، فما استطاعوا أن يردّوا عليه شيئاً، ومع ذلك عاندوا. ثم انطلقوا إلى أبي بكر رضي الله عنه يشكّكونه في صاحبه، فقال كلمته: «إن كان قال ذلك فقد صدق، إني لأصدّقه فيما هو أبعد من ذلك: أصدّقه في خبر السماء». فسُمّي من يومئذ الصدّيق.
قال تعالى في أهل الصدق: ﴿وَالَّذِي جَاءَ بِالصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُتَّقُونَ﴾.
مَن الصديق الذي تثق أنه سيصدّقك حين لا يصدّقك أحد؟ وهل أنت له مثل ذلك؟

In the morning the Prophet (pbuh) told Quraysh of his journey, and they mocked him: we travel to Jerusalem in a month, and you go and return in one night? They asked him to describe the mosque, and Allah showed it to him, and he described it exactly. They went to Abu Bakr to shake him, and he said: if he said it, he has told the truth. And so he was named as-Siddiq.
A true friend stands with you when others doubt.
When morning came, the Prophet (pbuh) sat telling Quraysh what had happened in his night, and the idol-worshippers mocked him: “We travel to Jerusalem in a month, and you go and come back in a single night?” They wanted to test him, so they asked him to describe al-Aqsa Mosque. Allah brought it before his sight, and he began describing it to them door by door, until they could not answer him a word — and still they refused. Then they went to Abu Bakr to shake his trust in his friend, and he said: “If he said it, he has told the truth. I believe him about what is further than that: I believe him about news from the heavens.” From that day he was called as-Siddiq — the one who affirms the truth.
Allah says of the truthful: ﴿وَالَّذِي جَاءَ بِالصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُتَّقُونَ﴾.
