لما أعلن النبي ﷺ دعوته، بدأ المشركون يؤذون المسلمين الضعفاء. أخذوا بلال بن رباح وألقوه على رمل الصحراء الحار ووضعوا صخرة على صدره ليترك دينه، فكان يردّد كلمة واحدة: «أحدٌ.. أحدٌ». وعذّبوا عمار بن ياسر وأباه وأمه سمية، وكان النبي ﷺ يمرّ عليهم فيقول: «صبراً آل ياسر، فإن موعدكم الجنة».
الإيمان يعطي القلب قوة لا تُهزم.
لما أعلن النبي ﷺ دعوته، بدأ المشركون بتعذيب المسلمين الضعفاء الذين لا عشيرة تحميهم. أخذوا بلال بن رباح، وكان عبداً، فألقوه على رمال الصحراء الحارقة ووضعوا صخرة ضخمة على صدره ليترك الإسلام، فكان بلال الشجاع يردّد كلمة واحدة تغيظهم: «أحدٌ.. أحدٌ»، أي أن الله واحد. وعذّبوا كذلك عمار بن ياسر وأباه وأمه سمية رضي الله عنهم، وكانت سمية أول شهيدة في الإسلام. وكان النبي ﷺ يمرّ عليهم وهم يُعذَّبون فيقول لهم: «صبراً آل ياسر، فإن موعدكم الجنة».
قال تعالى مبشّراً الصابرين: ﴿إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى الصَّابِرُونَ أَجْرَهُم بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ﴾.

When the Prophet (pbuh) announced his call, the idol-worshippers began to harm the weakest Muslims. They took Bilal ibn Rabah, threw him on the burning desert sand and put a rock on his chest to make him leave his faith — and he kept repeating one word: “Ahad… Ahad.” They tortured Ammar ibn Yasir and his father and his mother Sumayyah, and the Prophet (pbuh) would pass by them and say: “Be patient, family of Yasir — your promise is Paradise.”
Faith gives the heart a strength that cannot be beaten.
When the Prophet (pbuh) announced his call, the idol-worshippers began to torture the weakest Muslims, those with no clan to protect them. They took Bilal ibn Rabah, who was a slave, threw him onto the burning desert sand and placed a great rock on his chest so that he would abandon Islam. Brave Bilal kept repeating one word that infuriated them: “Ahad… Ahad” — Allah is One. They also tortured Ammar ibn Yasir, his father, and his mother Sumayyah, who became the first martyr in Islam. The Prophet (pbuh) would pass them as they were being tortured and say: “Be patient, family of Yasir — your promise is Paradise.”
Allah promises the patient: ﴿إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى الصَّابِرُونَ أَجْرَهُم بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ﴾ — their reward without measure.
