سمع أبو بكر أصوات القوم فوق الغار، فقال: يا رسول الله، لو أن أحدهم نظر تحت قدميه لرآنا! فقال له النبي ﷺ وهو هادئ: «ما ظنّك باثنين الله ثالثهما؟» و«لا تحزن إن الله معنا». فسكن قلب أبي بكر.
اليقين بالله يهدّئ القلب في أخطر لحظة.
سمع أبو بكر رضي الله عنه أصوات المشركين وأقدامهم فوق الغار، فخاف — لا على نفسه، بل على رسول الله ﷺ — فقال: يا رسول الله، لو أن أحدهم نظر تحت قدميه لأبصرنا! فنظر إليه النبي ﷺ هادئاً وقال: «ما ظنّك باثنين الله ثالثهما؟»، وقال له: «لا تحزن إن الله معنا». فما زاد على هذه الكلمات، فسكنت نفس أبي بكر وذهب خوفه. وقد خلّد الله هذا الموقف في كتابه، فذكر الغار، وذكر قول النبي ﷺ لصاحبه، وذكر أنه أنزل عليه سكينته.
قال تعالى: ﴿ثَانِيَ اثْنَيْنِ إِذْ هُمَا فِي الْغَارِ إِذْ يَقُولُ لِصَاحِبِهِ لَا تَحْزَنْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَنَا فَأَنزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَيْهِ﴾.
ما الكلمة التي يقولها لك أحدهم فتهدّئ خوفك؟

Abu Bakr heard the men above the cave and said: Messenger of Allah, if one of them looked down at his feet he would see us! The Prophet ﷺ answered him calmly: “What do you think of two whose third is Allah?” and “Do not grieve — Allah is with us.” And Abu Bakr's heart settled.
Certainty in Allah calms the heart at the most dangerous moment.
Abu Bakr heard the voices and footsteps of the idolaters above the cave, and he was afraid — not for himself, but for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: Messenger of Allah, if one of them looked down at his feet he would see us! The Prophet ﷺ looked at him calmly and said: “What do you think of two whose third is Allah?” and “Do not grieve — Allah is with us.” He added nothing more, and Abu Bakr's fear left him. Allah preserved this moment in His Book: the cave, the words the Prophet ﷺ said to his companion, and the tranquillity Allah sent down upon him.
Allah says: ﴿إِذْ يَقُولُ لِصَاحِبِهِ لَا تَحْزَنْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَنَا﴾ — “when he said to his companion, do not grieve; Allah is with us.”
