In the time of the Prophet (pbuh), people used to worship stone statues (idols). But Muhammad (pbuh) was very smart, and he knew that stones couldn't help or harm anyone. So, he liked to go to a quiet cave on top of a mountain called the 'Cave of Hira' to sit alone and think: Who created this beautiful sky? Who made the mountains? He only worshipped Allah, the Great Creator.
Using our minds and thinking about the sky and nature helps us know the greatness of Allah.
As the years passed, the Prophet (pbuh) saw his people bowing down to stone idols. His heart completely rejected these actions, and he never bowed to an idol. He began to prefer solitude and quietness. He would take some water and dates and climb up to a small cave at the top of 'Mount Noor' called the 'Cave of Hira'. He would spend days and nights there looking at the stars and the vast universe, thinking about the Great Creator who made this masterpiece. Through this quiet reflection, Allah was preparing him to receive the greatest message in history.
Reflecting on Allah's creation (the sky, the stars, the mountains) is an act of worship that increases faith in the heart.
