خرج المسلمون ثلاثمائة وثلاثة عشر رجلاً، فوجدوا أمامهم جيشاً يقارب الألف. فجمع النبي ﷺ أصحابه واستشارهم ولم يجبر أحداً. ولما نزلوا عند آبار بدر، قال له الحُباب بن المنذر: أهذا منزل أنزلكه الله أم هو الرأي والحرب؟ فقال: بل هو الرأي. فأشار عليه أن ينزلوا عند أقرب بئر إلى العدو، فأخذ النبي ﷺ برأيه.
القائد القويّ يسمع الرأي الصواب ممن هو أصغر منه.
خرج المسلمون في ثلاثمائة وثلاثة عشر رجلاً، فإذا قريش قد جهّزت جيشاً يقارب الألف مقاتل. فجمع النبي ﷺ أصحابه ولم يُجبر أحداً، بل قال: «أشيروا عليّ أيها الناس». فقام المهاجرون والأنصار يعلنون وقوفهم معه. ولما نزل الجيش عند آبار بدر، سأله الحُباب بن المنذر رضي الله عنه: أهذا منزلٌ أنزلكه الله فليس لنا أن نتقدّمه، أم هو الرأي والحرب والمكيدة؟ قال: «بل هو الرأي والحرب والمكيدة». فأشار عليه أن ينزلوا عند أقرب ماء إلى العدو ويجعلوا الماء خلفهم. فقبل النبي ﷺ رأيه ونفّذه.
قال تعالى في وصف المؤمنين: ﴿وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ﴾.
متى كانت آخر مرة غيّرت رأيك لأن أحداً أتى برأي أفضل؟

The Muslims set out three hundred and thirteen men, and found before them an army of nearly a thousand. The Prophet ﷺ gathered his companions and asked their view, forcing no one. When they camped at the wells of Badr, al-Hubab ibn al-Mundhir asked him: is this a place Allah told you to take, or is it judgement and strategy? He said: it is judgement. So al-Hubab advised camping at the well nearest the enemy — and the Prophet ﷺ took his advice.
A strong leader accepts the right idea from someone younger than him.
The Muslims set out three hundred and thirteen men, and Quraysh had readied an army of nearly a thousand. The Prophet ﷺ gathered his companions and forced no one, but said: “Advise me, people.” The Muhajirun and the Ansar stood and declared they were with him. When the army camped at the wells of Badr, al-Hubab ibn al-Mundhir asked: “Is this a position Allah placed you in, which we may not go beyond, or is it judgement, war and strategy?” He said: “It is judgement, war and strategy.” So al-Hubab advised moving to the water nearest the enemy and keeping the water behind them — and the Prophet ﷺ accepted his view and acted on it.
Allah describes the believers: ﴿وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ﴾ — “and their affair is by consultation among them.”
