في السابع عشر من رمضان التقى الجيشان ببدر. وقف النبي ﷺ يدعو ربه ويرفع يديه حتى سقط رداؤه، يسأله النصر لهذه القلّة. فاستجاب الله وأمدّهم بالملائكة، وانتصر المسلمون على قلّتهم، وسُمّي ذلك اليوم يوم الفرقان.
العدد ليس كل شيء؛ الصدق مع الله أوّل الأسباب.
التقى الجيشان في السابع عشر من رمضان في السنة الثانية للهجرة. ووقف النبي ﷺ في العريش يرفع يديه إلى ربه ويلحّ في الدعاء حتى سقط رداؤه عن منكبيه، يسأل الله أن ينصر هذه العصابة من أهل الإسلام. فاستجاب الله لدعائه وأمدّ المسلمين بالملائكة تثبّت أقدامهم وتربط على قلوبهم. فانتصر المسلمون على قلّة عددهم وعتادهم، وسُمّي ذلك اليوم «يوم الفرقان» لأن الله فرّق فيه بين الحق والباطل.
قال تعالى: ﴿وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ ۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ﴾.
أخذوا بالأسباب ودعوا الله معاً — لماذا الاثنان مطلوبان؟

On the seventeenth of Ramadan the two armies met at Badr. The Prophet ﷺ stood praying to his Lord with his hands raised until his cloak fell from his shoulders, asking victory for this small group. Allah answered him and sent the angels to support them, and the Muslims won despite their small number. That day was called the Day of the Criterion.
Numbers are not everything; sincerity with Allah comes first.
The two armies met on the seventeenth of Ramadan in the second year after the migration. The Prophet ﷺ stood in his shelter with his hands raised, pressing his Lord in prayer until his cloak slipped from his shoulders, asking Allah to give victory to this small band. Allah answered him and supported the Muslims with angels, steadying their feet and settling their hearts. They won despite how few they were and how little they had, and the day was called the Day of the Criterion, because on it Allah separated truth from falsehood.
Allah says: ﴿وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ﴾ — “Allah gave you victory at Badr while you were few.”
