ذكر أهل السيرة الخلفاء الأربعة أبا بكر وعمر وعثمان وعليًا رضي الله عنهم بين كُتّاب الوحي، ومن أشهر من كتب القرآن بين يدي النبي ﷺ فور نزوله زيد بن ثابت.

الخلفاء الأربعة مذكورون في قوائم كُتّاب الوحي عند أهل السير، لكن ثبوت ذلك لأبي بكر وعمر تحديدًا محل خلاف بين أهل هذا الفن، بخلاف زيد بن ثابت وأُبيّ بن كعب وعثمان وعلي.

The four caliphs appear in the lists of the scribes of revelation kept by the historians of the Seerah, but specialists disagree on how firmly this is established for Abu Bakr and Umar specifically, unlike Zayd ibn Thabit, Ubayy ibn Ka'b, Uthman and Ali.
