Everything by Measure: Believing in the Decree

I strive and choose what is good, and I trust Allah with wisdom and patience.

Have you seen a precise clock working by exact measure? The whole universe is greater and finer than that, and Allah knows everything and decrees it with wisdom. Believing in the decree does not mean I sit and do nothing: I choose the good, I study, I apologise, I help — and then I trust Allah. And if something happens that I do not like, I do my best, I am patient, and I trust that Allah is wise and merciful.

Belief in the decree holds two things together: trusting Allah, and carrying the responsibility of your own choices.

Trust and patience

If you met something difficult, why do you think we take the practical steps first and then trust Allah?
